History of Tom Jones, a Foundling

A baby is found in a wealthy squire's bed, and he grows up to be the most lovable troublemaker in England. Tom Jones is raised by the kindly Squire Allworthy, but his warm heart and weakness for pretty women get him into scrape after scrape. When his scheming half-cousin Blifil turns the household against him, Tom is cast out and takes to the road, pursuing his beloved Sophia Western across the country. Fielding's rollicking comic epic asks whether a good heart can survive a world of hypocrites. Beautifully typeset Tydbyts Classics edition.
